Buying

Step 1: Ensure you have your POSTING MESSAGE, FIN code, change of strength date (COS) and letter of employment stating salary and any entitlements.

Step 2: Register to the BGRS portal to connect with your BGRS representative. Click Here

Step 4: Have a mortgage pre-approval lined up with a local broker in your new province. If you don’t have a mortgage broker in mind we can recommend you some of the best in BC.

Step 5: In advance, we should setup a custom MLS search that will send you listings every morning matching your specific search criteria. This will help keep you informed of the current market trends prior to your house hunting trip.

Step 6: Inform us of your designated house hunting dates. We will set aside the full block of time in our schedule so we can personally focus on finding you an amazing home.

Selling

Step 4: Be Prepared: make sure your pre-approved for a mortgage if you plan to purchase in your new destination. We have a vast network of military experienced realtors across the country available for recommendation to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Step 5: Plan and organize your “pack load move”.

Other things to note:

  • Double check you have a TIN# not only for yourself but your family members as well.

  • Bring your proper photo ID such as passport, drivers license or government services card.

  • Bring a folder of any financial documents you might have to access to show investments, RRSP’s, car loans, personal loans, statement of contributions, pay slips with deductions, federal tax reports.

  • If selling your current home prior to your home hunting trip, make sure to bring a copy of your accepted contract of purchase and sale.

  • Daycare’s in the Greater Victoria area don’t always have availability and often have long wait lists. We strongly recommend getting on as many wait lists as soon as possible for the best chance of finding childcare.
